 We are now widely opening this educational and cultural opportunity to those around ASEAN who wish to learn Korean Language and Culture. Let’s experience the cultural life in Seoul.

The program integrates the learning of Korean language and culture, enhances communication skills and puts emphasis in hands-on learning.

Korean language learning:

We offer classes for beginners. Participants can start learning from Korean basics, including self-introduction, greetings, listening, and basic conversations. The classes will promote interactive learning.  Furthermore, the participants will have opportunities to interact with local people to practice daily conversations.

Korean culture learning:

Participants will have a chance to make Kimchi (the famous dish of Korea) as well as experience the culture by joining cultural activities such as tea ceremony, wear Hanbook, etc. In addition, participants will also visit places in Seoul where they can experience and learn about history, culture and society of Korea. Seoul tour includes Gyeongbokgung palace, Bukchon Village, etc.

Participants will have chances to visit iconic tourism spots in both Seoul and Nami island. Know deeper Seoul and Korea by experiencing in first hand.

14.15 – 16.00 Korea history : visit to a palace built in 1395 where it used to be the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty. Gyeongbokgung served as the home of Kings of the Joseon dynasty, the Kings’ households, as well as the government of Joseon. Gyeongbokgung
16.00 – 17.30 Korea culture: participants will have a chance to wear hanbook and explore the hidden village in Seoul. Bukchon Village

The Korea Cultural Camp will be held on 21 – 26 November 2016



The participants of Korea Cultural Camp should meet the criteria as follow:

  • Students/youth (15 – 25 years old), interested in Korean language and culture.
  • Commit to join full program (pre, on , and post program)
  • Able to adapt new environment easily
  • Able to pay the program fee
  • Health physically and mentally

  3. The committee will review your application and contact you to conduct “interview test” by AYFN team (if needed).

One of the AYFN’s strength is to provide high quality placement program, but still in an affordable range of fee. To join Korea Cultural Camp (6 Days program), participants must pay:


Program fee

 New participants  USD 650
 Alumni of previous AYFN Program  USD 600


Program cost should be paid after acceptance process and to be transferred to ASEAN Youth Friendship Network to secure the slot.


What do participants’ fees for?

Program Fee – Airport pick up (Incheon International Airport), All activities indicated on schedule (Korean language and culture, cultural tour, Kimchi cooking class), admission tickets to tourism places indicated on the schedule, certificate of participation from AYFN, program supervision, accommodation (6D5N) and meals during placement period as indicated on schedule (BF and Lunch only), In-country 24/7 volunteer support and In-country administration costs.


What additional cost should participants have?

Flight ticket to and from Seoul from home country, passport and visa fee, travel insurance, personal expenses.



Visiting ASEAN Korea Centre



During this camp, participants will be accommodated in a Guesthouse in order to enable participants to feel like Korean. The accommodations are a popular and a very sociable option as you get to live and socialize with other participants and local people.  Living conditions in the guesthouse is very good and very clean. Males and females are accommodated in separate room.

Korea is renowned for its tasty and healthy food.  Meals will be provided based on schedule. Meals consist of traditional Korean dishes (For Muslim participants, we provide meal which not containing pork), which participants generally find to be very generous and tasty. If you have special diet requirements, please let us know ahead of time so that we can make arrangements for you. However, we need to stress the point that you should not expect to eat as you normally do at home. We will do our best to see that you are well taken care of, but also as a participant, there is a need to be flexible. There are numerous amazing restaurants throughout Seoul which you will be directed to by program staff if you wish to eat out occasionally.
